All sizes have been measured by ourselves with vernier gauges to get very accurate readings on the thickness of the materials. All material types are quoted and were possible only non dyed natural materials are provided so that the customer may dye them if required. In this section you will find rigging cords made from the finest Egyptian cotton, nylons, rayons, polyesters, polycottons as well as silk.

EGYPTIAN COTTON - LINEN FINISH.

Egyptian cotton is noted through out the world as one of the finest materials available. We are proud to be able to offer our customers this fine material for modelling purposes. All the following threads are 100% Egyptian cotton and are in there natural unbleached colour. This material is over 30 years old and its quality has to be seen to be beleived. This material is renowned for its quality and was long thought to have disappeared, luckily the company that supplies us has found this treasure hiding in there stock room. We have now bought the total stock to secure this material for modellers the world over.

BLACK NYLON RIGGING CORDS.

These are two superb rigging cords. They are both stranded nylon cords and make very realistic "tarred" effect ropes. They both glue and tie well and can also be used for whipping cord on larger hawser cables etc. Many uses within marine modelling as well as other hobbies. Both these cords are very strong for there size.

We are please to announce that we now have our black nylon rigging cord at 0.5mm back in stock again. It was been very hard for us to obtain this again as we were told that it was no longer available, but we have been very lucky in finding some as well as the same material in brown.

Here we have the first of two very strong man made rigging cords. These are designed for use on more modern vessels were man made fibre ropes would be used, though they still have uses in many other modelling fields were a very strong thread is required.

This is one of the few materials that we carry that is pre-dyed, a nice  rich medium brown colour. It is a very popular choice with customers, it has low lint charactaristics.

SILK.

Silk, what can we say that has not already been said about this material. It is simply superb, more expensive than normal threads, but this has to be expected with this wonderful material. We stock three different colours of this material.

JAPANESE RIGGING SHEARS.

These Japanese rigging shears are the ideal tool for use with rigging, super sharpe, they can get into to the smallest space and with the lightest of touches you can easily shear the material with a good clean cut. Please do NOT let children play with these as they are very sharpe and could easily inflict serious damage if not used correctly.

Two types of these shears are currently available, both are priced at the same price hence either could be sent to you when you order. Spring steel handle colour may differ as they come in four different colours.
